I am not sure what to wear how do I navigate your website ?
If the item is physically in stock it will have a dark green tick next to it and the drop down box will indicate how many are available. If the item is normally readily available or in transit from our suppliers it will have a light green tick however please check first if you have a tight deadline. A red tick will generally indicate an item is out of stock or discontinued but please feel free to enquire just in case they have become available again. Shortages do sometimes occur due to human error. We will always do our best to inform you, arrange a replacement or give you a delivery timescale. Example below
How can I tell which items are in stock ?.
As we are all such different shapes and sizes most of our costumes are designed to try and accommodate this with elasticated waistbands and tie up backs. Please remember that although you want your costume to look its best it's not like a pair of designer jeans that will be worn everyday so a hidden safety pin under a cape or a small tack or two could make all the difference. Generally we would recommend buying a larger size rather than trying to squeeze into a smaller costume as this could result in damage to the costume or an uncomfortable party. Each listing will try to give you help with sizing but if you are unsure please ask. One of the best communication tools for confidential sizing questions is via e-mail as you can just send your measurements and we will check them against the costume you are interested in. There is in addition a useful size guide at the top of the page that you can just click on whilst you are viewing a listing. Its not a pop up so after viewing just click back a page on your browser.
I am unsure what size I need can you help ?
Postage prices on the site are calculated by set weight values. This in effect means you can usually buy your costume add a wig and perhaps some make up and not pay any extra postage. The maximum postage cost is set at £9.95 so you can happily shop without recalculating each item. Please note this does not apply to all fast postage options.
What is the cost of postage and shipping?
The following information does not apply to weekends and bank holidays. Dispatch times are normally between 1 - 7 days depending upon which postage option you have chosen. Please remember to allow yourself more time in peak periods such as Christmas and Halloween. If you are worried that an item has been delayed please call us on 01376 346881 between 9.30am to 5.30pm as we may be able to check or provide tracking numbers.
How long will my order take to arrive?
What payment methods do you accept?
We accept online payments via Protx or PayPal so you can buy your item securely with your debit or credit card. Alternatively via post with postal orders, personal or company cheques.

What should I do if a product is faulty ?.
Obviously any item that has been worn or washed cannot be returned but if you are intending to wear the item again it is strongly recommended that you dry clean the product even if it states machine washable on the label.
Can I machine wash my costume ?.
Yes, as long as the order has not been shipped. Please can you contact us by phone and then confirm cancellation by e-mail and we will refund you in full. Sorry but if the goods have already been shipped you may still return them but will be liable for all postage costs.
I have changed my mind can I cancel my order ?
All prices are correct at time of publication. First Choice Fancy Dress reserve the right to change, alter or amend any price at any time without prior notice. Sorry but should a products price decrease since an original purchase, contractually we are not obligated to refund the difference.
The price of a product I have just bought has now been reduced.
We do not encourage this practice as its far easier if you provide your measurements either by phone or email and we can check them against the outfits. In this way it saves you time and unnecessary return postage costs.
